قَصَدْتُI sought أَبَاAbu (father of) عِمْرَانَImran مُوسَىMusa وَقَدْand already طَغَتْhad overwhelmed
قَصَدْتُ أَبَا عِمْرَانَ مُوسَى وَقَدْ طَغَتْ
هُمُومِيmy sorrows علىupon قَلْبِيmy heart الكَئيبِsorrowful الْمُبَرَّحِtormented
هُمُومِي على قَلْبِي الكَئيبِ الْمُبَرَّحِ
I sought Abu Imran Musa, when
I sought out Abu Imran Musa while my worries
I sought Abu Imran Musa, when they had overflowed—
my sorrows had overwhelmed my sorrowful, tormented heart,
Overflowed upon my mournful, desolate heart,
My heavy cares, upon my dejected, agonized heart,
لِكَيْso that تَسْرَحَmay graze الآمَالُhopes فيin رَوْضِthe meadow of جُودِهِhis generosity
لِكَيْ تَسْرَحَ الآمَالُ في رَوْضِ جُودِهِ
فَمَنْfor whoever لاَذَseeks refuge بِالرَّاعِيwith the shepherd يَسْرَحْwill graze وَيَمْرَحِand frolic
فَمَنْ لاَذَ بِالرَّاعِي يَسْرَحْ وَيَمْرَحِ
so that hopes might graze in the meadow of his generosity;
So that hope might graze in the meadow of his generosity -
So that hopes might roam in the meadow of his generosity,
for whoever seeks refuge with the shepherd will graze and frolic.
For he who seeks refuge in the Shepherd will graze and frolic.
For whoever takes refuge with the shepherd shall roam and rejoice.
