لَكَfor you الْبُشْرَىglad tidings وَخُذْand take مَاwhat تَبْتَغِيهِyou seek it
وَسَامِحْand pardon مَنْطِقِيmy speech فِيمَاin what يَبُثُّit pours forth
Glad tidings are yours, and take what you seek.
You have good tidings, so take what you desire,
Yours are the glad tidings, so take what you desire,
And pardon my speech for what it pours forth.
And forgive my outspokenness, however it flows.
And forgive my speech for what it reveals.
وَإِنْand if كَانَwas الزَّمَانُtime أَرَاكَshowed you ظُلْماًinjustice
فَذَاكَthen that الظُّلْمُthe injustice لِلأَحْرَارِto the free مَغْثُa light blow
And if time has shown you injustice,
Even if time has shown you injustice,
And if time has shown you injustice,
then that injustice is a light blow to the free.
That injustice is relief for the free.
Such injustice is but a trifling affliction for the free.
وَرِدْand come to drink نَهْرَriver الْبَلَاغَةِeloquence سَلْسَبِيلاًsweet and easy to drink
فَقَدْfor indeed لَبَّىanswered غَلِيلَكَyour burning thirst مِنْهُfrom it نَفْثُa breath
And drink from the sweet-flowing river of eloquence,
Make the river of eloquence flow smoothly,
And draw from the river of eloquence, a sweet-flowing spring,
for a breath from it has quenched your burning thirst.
For its surge has clothed your agony.
For a mere breath from it has quenched your burning thirst.
