غَازِي غَزَانِي ابْنِ حَيُّونٍ مِنَ الْحَرَسِ

غَازِي غَزَانِي ابْنِ حَيُّونٍ مِنَ الْحَرَسِ

فَمَنَعُونِي مِنْ حَظِّي مِنَ الْحُبُسِ

فَمَنَعُونِي مِنْ حَظِّي مِنَ الْحُبُسِ

Ghazi ibn Hayyun, one of the guards, attacked me.

A raider from the guard, Ibn Hayyun, has assailed me,

So they deprived me of my share of the endowments.

And they have denied me my rightful share of the endowment,

حَبَّسَهُ أَهْلُنَا عَلَى ضَعِيفِهِمُ

حَبَّسَهُ أَهْلُنَا عَلَى ضَعِيفِهِمُ

فَكُنْتَ أَوْلَى بِهِ فِي حُكْمِ ذِي نَفَسِ

فَكُنْتَ أَوْلَى بِهِ فِي حُكْمِ ذِي نَفَسِ

Our kin endowed it for the weak among them.

Our people had established it as a trust for the vulnerable among them,

So you were more entitled to it, in the judgment of anyone who draws breath.

Thus I was the most deserving of it in the judgment of any living soul,

وَالْحَوْزُ فِي يَدِنَا فَلاَ يُنَازِعُنَا

وَالْحَوْزُ فِي يَدِنَا فَلاَ يُنَازِعُنَا

فِيهِ سِوَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَى الْهُدَى فَنَسِي

فِيهِ سِوَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَى الْهُدَى فَنَسِي

And possession is in our hands, so none disputes with us

Its possession remains in our hands, and no one disputes us

over it, except one who transgressed against right guidance and then forgot.

Over it, save one who transgresses against guidance and forgets,

فَاغْنَمْ ثَوَاباً عَلَى أَعْلاَمِ سَيِّدِنَا

فَاغْنَمْ ثَوَاباً عَلَى أَعْلاَمِ سَيِّدِنَا

وَاجْعَلْ نُهُوضَكَ فِي شَأْنِي مِنَ الْخُمُسِ

وَاجْعَلْ نُهُوضَكَ فِي شَأْنِي مِنَ الْخُمُسِ

So gain a reward for our master's banners,

So reap a divine reward under the banners of our master,

and make your taking action in my affair part of the fifth share.

And count your rising to my defense as part of the sacred fifth.
