Ali ibn Dawud—exalted is his station.
Ali bin Dawood is an eminent man
Ali ibn Dawud, exalted is his station,
And in renouncing the transient, far-reaching is his aim.
And in asceticism from the ephemeral he is far removed
And in renouncing the ephemeral world, far-reaching is his aim.

When one whom love—his love—has visited visits him,
When one who loves him comes to visit
Whenever a visitor comes to him, his affection is pure love,
he gives him drink from a cup whose wine may endure.
He offers a cup whose drink is lasting
He pours for him from a cup whose wine endures forever.
