The embers of farewell—and God suffices me—

have split my liver and destroyed my reason.

I said in complaint: O my God and my Lord,

the day of parting has indeed burned my heart,

and parting has seared me utterly with fire.

O those I love, still rising are

my sighs since the morning of farewell.

So, by the sanctity of reunion after separation,

if God decrees a reunion between us,

I shall never mention parting as long as I live.
