    May God clothe you in a mantle of recovery,

    warding off your illness with the finest warding.

    شَكْوُكَ صَارَ لِحِلْفِ شَرْءِ

    My worry has indeed been stirred, O son of my uncle;

    your complaint has come to a sworn companion of sharʾ [meaning uncertain].

    And may you yourself return sound in body,

    a return that restores glory to its beginning.

    And may God decree what will bring contentment,

    without hardship, for the best of men.

    Amen—may what we wished for come to pass,

    by permission of Him who brings forth every hidden thing.
