ليتwould that شعريmy knowledge عنabout خالدٍKhalid كيفhow أمسىhe fared this evening
منfrom حُكاكِitching اسْتهhis anus وحرِّand the heat of هجائيmy satire
Would that I knew how Khalid fares this evening,
I wish I knew of Khaled, how was his evening
with the itching of his anus and the heat of my satire.
From your separation, he became passionate and my reproach kindled him
جَمعتْhas gathered شِقْوةُthe misfortune الشقيِّof the wretch عليهupon him
كلَّevery خزْيٍdisgrace وكلَّand every داءٍailment عَياءِincurable
The wretch's misfortune has heaped upon him
The wretchedness of the miserable brought together upon him
every disgrace and every incurable ailment.
Every disgrace and every recurring affliction
لوif علمتَyou knew الذيwhat يُقاسيhe suffers منfrom الأَمْthe two matters (word begins)
رين(completes 'the two matters') عَزّيتَهyou would console him صباحَmorning مساءِevening
If you knew what he suffers from the two
If you knew what he suffers from sorrows
afflictions, you would console him morning and evening.
You would console him, morning and evening
أَيُّهذاO you المُسائِليwho asks me عنabout سعيدٍa fortunate man
وشقيٍّand a wretched man ولاتَand it is not حينَa time for خفاءِconcealment
O you who ask me about a fortunate man
O you who asks about Saeed
and a wretched one—this is no time for concealment:
And the miserable, do not disappear at times
أناI فيon الأرضthe earth محنةٌa trial فاتِخذْنيso regard me
محنةَthe trial of الأشقياءthe wretched والسُّعداءِand the fortunate
I am a trial on earth, so regard me
I am a tribulation on earth, so take me
as the trial of the wretched and the fortunate.
As a tribulation of the wretched and the happy
منwhoever تحامَىavoids عداوتيenmity with me فسعيدٌthen he is fortunate
ومُعادِيَّand my enemy أوّلُforemost among الأشقياءِthe wretched
Whoever avoids enmity with me is fortunate,
Whoever contends with my enmity is fortunate
and my enemy is foremost among the wretched.
And my enemy is the most miserable of the miserable
