سليمانُSulayman ميمونُfortunate النقيبةِdisposition حازمُresolute
سليمانُ ميمونُ النقيبةِ حازمُ
ولكنَّهbut he حتْمٌinevitable عليهfor him الهزائمُthe defeats
ولكنَّه حتْمٌ عليه الهزائمُ
Sulayman is fortunate by nature and resolute,
Sulaiman, fortuitous, the leader
Yet defeats are inevitable for him.
But defeat upon him is destined
ألاCome! عوِّذُوهinvoke protection for him منagainst تواليthe succession of فتوحهِhis conquests
ألا عوِّذُوه من توالي فتوحهِ
عساهperhaps he may تَرُدُّwards off العينَthe evil eye عنهfrom him التمائمُthe amulets
عساه تَرُدُّ العينَ عنه التمائمُ
Come, invoke protection for him against his successive conquests;
Protect him from unending conquests
Perhaps the amulets will ward the evil eye away from him.
Lest curses upon him be bestowed
