Ride forth, then, under an auspicious omen and good fortune.

You have escaped every peril by God's leave.

And Time has turned to you in repentance for every wrong,

And Fate has made amends to you, O best of those appeased.

Time saw that it had wronged none but itself,

So it desisted from what it had been doing, without rebuke.

Nay, people had pelted it from every side,

With their rebukes, as one is pelted with pebbles.

And rebuke did not restrain it, but a mighty one's bounty did.

It saw that it was on the verge of incurring his wrath,

And recognized its right course in leaving you alone,

Through the outcome of its reconsidered judgment.

So eat the choicest fare from the fruits of life,

And drink the sweetest draught from the pools of life.

And live a full hundred years in happiness

And prosperity that no star's ill fortune can snatch away.
