وإن قَدَرتَ فكُنْ أدنى وسائلِهِ
Point the way to good, and you will match the achievement of its doer.
Guide others to virtue, and you will share the merit of their good deeds.
And if you can, be the most direct means to it.
If you have the power, be the means to help them.

واعلم بأن ابتذال الوجه تُخْلفُهُ

إلا ابتذالكَه في نَفع آملِهِ
Know that abasing the face wears it out (the apparent intended sense of the unclear wording),
Know that constant familiarity breeds contempt,
except when you abase it to benefit one who looks to it with hope.
Except when your familiarity benefits another.

Sometimes, abasing the face renews it,
Giving freely of yourself at times renews your spirit,
as the hand of its polisher renews a sword.
Just as the hand of the polisher renews a sword.
