O you who approach a hand whose favors are great,
O you who extend a hand to one whose hands are paralyzed
And whose healer has tasted death and misery,
And whose lips have tasted the flavor of misery and woe

It is the hand of generosity, so be gentle; do not spill its blood,
The hand of munificence it is, so be gentle, do not make it bleed
For within it lie the livelihoods of those who seek generosity.
For in it lie the sustenance of those seeking charity
