O son of the two viziers, no dissembling:
O son of two viziers, there is no deviation
In your dealings, murk has mingled with clarity.
The pure and the turbid have mingled in you

You, if you wish, can make between them
a way of escape and a refuge for one owed respect.
A refuge for one of dignity and one oppressed

Sufficient as my champion against a generous man
It suffices me to have a protector over my brother of generosity
is that I have no defense against his harm.
That I have none to avenge me for his harm

and had always been despised and scorned,
And was always scorned and disdained

Among lions, his bit is stubble.
