أبداً ويخطئه لك الإحسانُ

أبداً ويخطئه لك الإحسانُ

May you keep failing to praise a friend,

You still miss praising the right one

forever, and may he fail to show you kindness.

And keep bestowing kindness on the wrong one

لَترى غداةَ الغِبِّ مِن حرمانِه

لَترى غداةَ الغِبِّ مِن حرمانِه

خطأً ومَن حرمانُه حرمانُ

خطأً ومَن حرمانُه حرمانُ

You will surely see, when the consequences dawn, through his withholding,

Tomorrow, deprived of what he's been denied

a mistake—and whose withholding means true deprivation.

You'll see you were wrong and repent being wrong
