You are still a savior when a desperate man calls on you
wherever you are; those loyal to you are sheltered.
Wherever you are, and whoever supports you is concealed

“I am cloaked in your bounty for as long as I live.”
That through your grace, I was not made wretched

The copper coin is a god to whom worshipers fall prostrate,
Money makes the prostrating bow down before it
yet my poetry turns from it and is kept away.
While poetry is turned away and averted

I do not utter what is fresh when what is fresh is rancid

And is a little mildly brackish water to be spurned?
Can a little tainted water be wholesome?
