Is boredom anything but the ending of a desire
Is satiety anything but a passing whim,
for one pleasure, while desire is enticed by another?
To be replaced by yearning for other joys?
وفيكِand in you أحسنُthe finest ماwhat تسموaspire النفوسsouls لهto it
فأينso where يرغبturns away عنكfrom you السمعhearing والبصرand sight
In you is the finest of all that souls aspire to;
In you is found the best the soul aspires to.
Where, then, could hearing and sight turn away from you?
Why then should hearing or vision turn from you?
لاno شيءَthing إلاexcept وفيهاand in her منهof it أحسنُهُits finest
فأينso where يُصرَفis diverted عنهاfrom her القلبthe heart والنظرand the gaze
There is nothing whose finest is not found in her;
In all things you hold what is best in them.
Where, then, could heart and gaze be diverted from her?
Why then should heart or eye be turned away?

What harm would a sky beneath which she shelters have suffered,
No cloud has ever veiled the sky you shelter
even had its two lights—the sun and moon—been effaced?
Though sun and moon should threaten it with light.
