لَأَبوindeed, Abu الجهمal-Jahm مُلْصَقٌa bastard
لَأَبو الجهم مُلْصَقٌ
مُعْتَدٍexceeding bounds فيin تَجَهُّمِهْhis scowling
مُعْتَدٍ في تَجَهُّمِهْ
Indeed, Abu al-Jahm is a bastard,
Abu al-Jahm has a clinging self
excessive in his scowling.
Supercilious in his frowning
غيرَbut أنِّيthat I عذرتُهُI excused him
غيرَ أنِّي عذرتُهُ
فيfor الخَنَاobscenity عِنْدَbefore لُوَّمِهْhis critics
في الخَنَا عِنْدَ لُوَّمِهْ
Yet I excused him
Yet I pardoned him
for his obscenity before his critics.
When he stumbles in dialogue

إنَّ مَنْ يُحفزُ الرجي

عُ بِعُنفٍ إلى فَمِهْ
Indeed, whoever has excrement thrust
Indeed, he who spurs eager
violently into his mouth
Harshly to his mouth

جَعرُهُhis dung فيin تَكَلُّمِهْhis speaking
جَعرُهُ في تَكَلُّمِهْ
surely deserves to have
Deserves to be seen
his dung seen in his speech.
Snarling in his speech
