أحبُّI would like أنthat تشتمنيyou insult me
بوزنِin equal measure to ماwhat تشتمُهُyou insult him
I would like you to insult me
I love when you insult me
as much as you insult him,
With the same weight you insult him
أوor تُوقعَyou bestow الإكرامhonor ليupon me
وللذيand upon the one whom أُكرمُهُI honor him
or bestow honor upon me
Or bestow honor upon me
and upon the one I honor.
As you would honor him
فإنfor indeed ماwhat تفعلهُyou do it
بحضرتيin my presence يُحشمُهُembarrasses him
For what you do
For whatever you do
in my presence embarrasses him.
In my presence becomes modest
وكلand all ماthat يألَمهpains him
فإننيfor indeed I إيلمُهُI feel its pain
And whatever pains him,
And whatever hurts him
I too feel its pain.
I feel his pain
وإننيand indeed I يظْلِمُنيwrongs me
كلُّevery امرىءperson يظلمُهُwrongs him
And indeed, I am wronged
And verily it wrongs me
by every person who wrongs him,
When a man wrongs him
لأننيbecause I يلزمنيbinds me
كلُّall الذيthat which يلزمُهُbinds him
because I am bound
For I am bound
by all that binds him.
By all that binds him
