أرى بَقَر الإنس مِنِّي تُرا

أرى بَقَر الإنس مِنِّي تُرا

عُ أطْيَشَ ما كنتُ عنها سهاما

عُ أطْيَشَ ما كنتُ عنها سهاما

I see the cattle of humankind take fright at me,

I see the cows of mankind are afraid of me,

when my arrows stray farthest from them.

though I was not shooting arrows at them.

وأنَّي تَفَرَّعَ رأْسِي المشيبُ

وأنَّي تَفَرَّعَ رأْسِي المشيبُ

ولم أتفرَّعْ ثلاثين عاما

ولم أتفرَّعْ ثلاثين عاما

And how has gray hair climbed onto my head,

And that the gray hairs have branched out on my head,

when I have not yet passed thirty years?

yet thirty years I have not branched out.
