1. دخلت على خالد مرةً

    وقد غاب في ذاته الأصلعُ

    I once called on Khalid,

    and the bald one had vanished inside him.

  2. فقلت أشيخ كبيرٌ يناك

    فقال أجل خَلِقٌ يُرقع

    So I said, “Is an elderly man being fucked?”

    He said, “Yes—a worn-out thing being patched.”

  3. فقلت له أعلى أربع

    فقال نعم هكذا أنجع

    So I said to him, “On all fours?”

    He said, “Yes, this way is more effective.

  4. إذا لم أكبَّ على أربع

    فلم خلقت لي إذاً أربع

    If I do not bend down on all fours,

    why, then, were four limbs created for me?

  5. تركت السجود لأربابه

    فدعنيَ إذ فاتني أركع

    I left prostration to its practitioners;

    so let me bow, since it has passed me by.

  6. قبيح بمثلي على سنه

    يناك فيبطح أو يضجع

    It is shameful for someone like me, at his age,

    to be fucked and laid face down or on his side.

  7. لأهل الجرائم وضع الصدو

    ر لا لي والمصرع الأضرع

    Laying chests down is for sinners—

    not for me—and so is the more abject posture.”

  8. فأعرضت عن رجل فاسق

    لشيطانه فيه مستمتع

    So I turned away from a depraved man,

    in whom his devil had a source of pleasure.

  9. إذا فعل السوء قال الخنا

    ليشبه منظره المسمع

    Whenever he did evil, he spoke obscenities,

    so the sound would match the sight of him.
