ثَبوتٌ لهبات الرياح الزعازعِ
I have a worn-thin ṭaylasān shawl, yet it
I have a willow tree, slender yet
stands firm against the gusts of raging winds.
Steadfast against gusting winds

يخلّي سبيل الريح غير منازع
And that is only because it is tattered:
That's just because it sways and bends
it lets the wind pass without resistance.
Letting the winds pass without pretense

I see it with my eye, like the light of the sun,
I see it like the sun's light meets my eye
and it keeps me from touching it with my fingers.
Yet stops my hand from touching it nearby

It complained its name was far too weighty
so I named it 'sāj'—behold, that helps me.
So I called it "saja", and it was sated by me
