ولو شئتَ ساجلت البحور غزارةً
وبادهتَand you would vie in improvisation with قرضcomposing الشعرpoetry جِنَّةthe jinn of عَبقراAbqar
وبادهتَ قرض الشعر جِنَّة عَبقرا
And if you wished, you would rival the seas in abundance,
and vie with the jinn of Abqar in improvising poetry.
