I find myself—even when companions are many—

whenever he is absent from me, lonely and alone.

بلوتُ سجاياه في النائباتِ

فلم أبْلُ منهن إلا حميدا

فلم أبْلُ منهن إلا حميدا

I tested his qualities in times of calamity,

and found nothing in them but what was praiseworthy.
