Thick and knotty, called 'He Who Makes Virgins Fart,'

Firmly wrought, like tightly twisted rope,

With a glans whose rim stands proud,

As though it were the glans of an ass.

It squats upon a stout, tightly twisted shaft,

    Surpassing even a full handspan.

    Sleepless by night and day,

It tastes no sleep except in brief snatches.

Brimming with the sap of raging youth,

It is watered from richly flowing valleys,

By veins that throb like bowstrings.

Massive and hard, rearing inside the loincloth,

    It penetrates front and rear,

Snout raised haughtily, like a tyrant king.

When matrons and virgins see it,

They risk their family honor and their standing.

For its sake the freeborn woman forgets all thought of shame,

And fear of God and dread of Hellfire.

It hangs from the loins of a lustful, dripping man,

Beardless, save for a fringe of side-whiskers.

He has, at the dawn of earnest combat and raiding,

    Thrusts, cherished on entry and withdrawal;

From it fly showers of sparks,

With the like of an ever-charging champion’s spear.

It quells the shying of the chaste, full-breasted maiden,

    Until she bellows—what a bellow!—

    After recoiling—what a recoil!—

    As you tame a stubborn she-camel with a nose-halter.

In Khiyar’s arse, and those of Khiyar’s sons!

O son of Khiyar, you are not among the best,

Nor are your witless sons among the righteous,

Since they earned you the anger of freeborn men,

And exposed your honor to destruction.

In them you have borne the foulest fruits.

I reckon they came out of arses,

So, inside them, they mingled with filth,

And took on the likeness of turds.

May ruin’s circle close upon them,

And God’s curse, and a wretched abode!

Take it for yourself: a robe of shame,

That adds still more ringing to your ears.
