Be a swift severance for his worldly fortunes,

And an uprooting with no deception,

وانصداعاً ليس فيه التئام

وافتراقاً ليس فيه اجتماع

وافتراقاً ليس فيه اجتماع

And a splitting that admits no mending,

And a parting that admits no reunion.

خنه ما أعطاك معطي العطايا

Betray him as long as the Giver of gifts gives to you,

Just as dispersal betrayed the clouds.

O people, that radiance has faded!

فَتَرَت تلك الرياحُ الجواري

كلها وانحط ذاك الشراع

Those coursing winds have slackened,

All of them, and that sail has fallen.
