ياO وَيْحَalas for هذاthis الطبِيبِthe physician وَيْحاهُalas for him
يا وَيْحَ هذا الطبِيبِ وَيْحاهُ
لقدindeed تعدَّىhe has overstepped بماthrough what تَجنَّاهُhe perpetrated it
لقد تعدَّى بما تَجنَّاهُ
Alas for this physician—alas for him!
Alas for this physician, alas for him!
Indeed, he has gone too far in what he has perpetrated:
He has surely gone too far in the wrong he has done.
يُؤلمُhe hurts بالفصْدby bloodletting كفَّthe hand ذيone possessing غُنُجٍcoy charm
يُؤلمُ بالفصْد كفَّ ذي غُنُجٍ
تَفْصِدُdraw blood from مناfrom us القلوبَthe hearts عيناهُhis two eyes
تَفْصِدُ منا القلوبَ عيناهُ
by bloodletting, he pains the hand of a coy charmer,
By bloodletting he hurts the hand of a coy one,
while his two eyes bleed the very hearts from us.
Whose eyes draw blood from our hearts.
