لا تلحِني في المنطق السخيفِ
فإننيfor I فيin حالةthe state of اللهيفِone in anguish
فإنني في حالة اللهيفِ
Do not reproach me for foolish talk.
Do not preach foolish logic to me
For I am in the plight of one in anguish.
For I am utterly mad
أصبحتI have become أغنىleast in need الخلقof all people عنof كنيفa privy
أصبحت أغنى الخلق عن كنيف
وأحوجand most in need الناسof all people إلىof رغيفa loaf of bread
وأحوج الناس إلى رغيف
Of all people, I have become the least in need of a privy,
I have become the richest of creatures without wealth
And the most in need of a loaf of bread.
And the most in need of people for a loaf
فجدso give generously علىto عبدكyour servant بالطفيفwith a little
فجد على عبدك بالطفيف
إلىuntil مجيءthe arrival of الصفدthe bounty الشريفnoble
إلى مجيء الصفد الشريف
So give your servant a little,
Show kindness to Your servant with little
Until the noble bounty arrives.
Until the coming of the noble deliverance
فإننيfor I فيin قبضَتَيthe two grasping hands of عنيفa harsh one
فإنني في قبضَتَي عنيف
وتحتand beneath وطءa tread ليسis not بالخفيفat all light
وتحت وطء ليس بالخفيف
For I am in a harsh one's two-handed grip,
For I am in the grip of a severe one
And beneath a tread that is anything but light.
And under a burden that is not light
