لا تغافلْ يا أبا الصق
رِal-Saqr, final fragment وليستْand there is not فيكin you غفلَهْheedlessness
رِ وليستْ فيك غفلَهْ
Do not feign heedlessness, O Abu al-Saqr,
Do not neglect, O father of sincerity
when there is no heedlessness in you.
And in you there is no neglect
إنindeed حرمانَكyour denial مَنْsomeone whom لمdid not
إن حرمانَك مَنْ لم
تحرمِyou turn away العافينَthe supplicants قبلَهْbefore him
تحرمِ العافينَ قبلَهْ
Indeed, your turning someone away, when you had never
If your deprivation of those
turned away the supplicants before him,
Who did not deprive the kind before it
مُثْلَةٌa mutilation منكfrom you بهupon him فيamong الthe
مُثْلَةٌ منك به في ال
ناسِpeople تُنسيmakes forgotten كلَّevery مُثلهْmutilation
ناسِ تُنسي كلَّ مُثلهْ

لةِ شيءٌ لسْتَ أهلَهْ
And repaying praise with mutilation
