لَة مفتاحاً لظُلمي
O ailing one, who made illness
A key to wronging me,
شَهِدَتْbore witness وجنتُكَyour cheek الحَمthe red (first part)
شَهِدَتْ وجنتُكَ الحَم
راءُcompletes “red” أَنَّthat الزعمَthe claim زعميmy claim
راءُ أَنَّ الزعمَ زعمي
Your red cheek bore witness
That the claim is mine:
ليسthere is no فيon الأرضِthe earth عليلٌailing one
ليس في الأرضِ عليلٌ
غيرexcept جَفنيكyour two eyelids وجسميand my body
غير جَفنيك وجسمي
There is no ailing one on earth
Except your two eyelids and my body.
بِكَin you سقمٌsickness فيin جفونeyelids
بِكَ سقمٌ في جفون
سقمهاtheir sickness أكَّدintensified سقميmy sickness
سقمها أكَّد سقمي
You have a sickness in your eyelids;
Their sickness has intensified mine.
