Just as your kingdom was founded through Abū al-ʿAbbās,
Just as your kingdom was established by al-Abbas

إمامٌan imam يظلُّkeeps الأمسُyesterday يُعْمِلُdirecting نحوهtoward him
إمامٌ يظلُّ الأمسُ يُعْمِلُ نحوه
تلفُّتَa turning glance ملهوفone distraught ويشتاقُهand longs for him الغدُtomorrow
تلفُّتَ ملهوف ويشتاقُه الغدُ
An imam toward whom yesterday keeps casting
An imam under whose shade yesterday still works
the glances of one distraught, and tomorrow longs for him.
Looking forward longingly to him is tomorrow
يودّwishes الزمانُtime المنقضيthat has passed عنهaway from him أنهthat it
يودّ الزمانُ المنقضي عنه أنه
عليهto him لِزامٌinseparably bound آخرَthe end of الدهرtime سرمدُeverlasting
عليه لِزامٌ آخرَ الدهر سرمدُ
The time that has slipped away from him wishes that it
The bygone times wish that he
were bound to him forever, to the end of time.
Would remain its everlasting duty 'til the end of time
