الحمدُ للَّهِ الذي نجَّى السمكْ

Praise be to God, who saved the fish

علّمه يونسُ من تسبيحِهِ

ما كان أدّاه إلى تسريحه

Jonah taught it, from his hymn of praise,

So it is safe from the fisherman,

as long as I pursue it, under protection.

as long as I seek it—and assured of protection.

إني عليه لعظيم البركهْ

فلْيدْعُ لي ما صاحبته الحركهْ

Indeed, I am a mighty blessing to it;

Indeed, I am a great blessing to it;

so let it pray for me while motion keeps it company.

so let it pray for me as long as movement accompanies it.
