أُهنِّئ الفطر بوجهِ الإمامِ

أليس قد عاينَ بدرَ الأنامِ
I felicitate Eid al-Fitr with the Imam’s countenance:
I congratulate Eid al-Fitr on the Imam's face.
Has not humankind’s full moon beheld it?
Has it not beheld the full moon of humankind?
أليسhas it not قدalready شاهَدَseen مَنone whose قُرْبُهُhis nearness
أليس قد شاهَدَ مَن قُرْبُهُ
مِنamong نِعمِthe blessings of اللَّهِGod العظامِgreat الجسامِimmense
مِن نِعمِ اللَّهِ العظامِ الجسامِ
Has he not witnessed it close at hand,
Has it not seen one whose nearness
as one of God’s tremendous, magnificent blessings?
is among God's great, immense blessings?

May God grant him enjoyment of his feast days,
May God let him enjoy his festivals
in lasting bliss for a thousand years;
in lasting bliss for a thousand years.

and may God gladden him at its appointed season,
And may God gladden him through his lady,
and may the months of those years pass, leaving him a youth.
and may her months end with a boy.
