أعينيَّ جودا بالدموع لفقدها

أعينيَّ جودا بالدموع لفقدها

فما بعدها ذخر من الدمع مذخورُ

فما بعدها ذخر من الدمع مذخورُ

O my eyes, pour forth tears for her loss;

O my two eyes, be generous with tears for the loss of her.

For after her, no store of tears is worth preserving.

For after her, no reserve of tears is to be held back.

نصيبكما منها الذي فات فابكيا

نصيبكما منها الذي فات فابكيا

فأمّا نصيب القلب منها فموفورُ

فأمّا نصيب القلب منها فموفورُ

Your share of her is what has passed away—so weep;

It is your share of her that has been lost, so weep.

But the heart’s share of her remains abundant.

But as for the heart’s share of her, it remains undiminished.
