لَعَمْرُكَ ما أدري إذا ما تنفَّستْ
كُنَيزَةُKunayzah ماwhat أنفاسُهاher breaths منfrom فُسائِهاher farts
كُنَيزَةُ ما أنفاسُها من فُسائِها
By your life, when she breathes, I cannot tell
By your life, I know not if, when she breathes,
Kunayzah’s breaths from her farts.
The air exhaled is sweetened by her sighs--
بهاin her غُلْمَةٌsexual lust قدalready أحرقَتْهاit has scorched her بحرِّهاwith its heat
بها غُلْمَةٌ قد أحرقَتْها بحرِّها
تُبرِّدُهاshe cools it عنaway from نفسهاherself بِغنائِهاwith her singing
تُبرِّدُها عن نفسها بِغنائِها
A lust within her has scorched her with its heat;
A burning passion smolders in her eyes,
She cools it off with her singing, bringing herself relief.
Its heat allayed by plaintive melodies.
