أباO father of عثمانUthman أنتyou عميدُchief of قومِكْyour people
أبا عثمان أنت عميدُ قومِكْ
وجودُكand your generosity للعشيرةِfor the clan دونَrather than لَومِكْyour reproach
وجودُك للعشيرةِ دونَ لَومِكْ
O Abu Uthman, you are the chief of your people.
O Abuthman, you are the leader of your people
And your generosity is for your clan, not your reproach.
Your existence is blameless for the clan
تمتَّعْtake joy منin أخيكyour brother فماfor not أُراهُI think he will
تمتَّعْ من أخيك فما أُراهُ
يراكَhe will see you ولاnor تراهُyou will see him بعدafter يومِكْyour day
يراكَ ولا تراهُ بعد يومِكْ
Take joy in your brother, for I do not think
Enjoy your brother for I do not see
he will see you, nor you him, after your day is done.
You will see him nor he sees you after your day
