وحَبَّبَ يومَ السبتِ عِنْديَ أَنَّني

وحَبَّبَ يومَ السبتِ عِنْديَ أَنَّني

تُنادِمُني فيه الذي أنا أحَبَبْتُ

تُنادِمُني فيه الذي أنا أحَبَبْتُ

And what endeared Saturday to me was that

ومن عجَبِ الأشياء أَنِّيَ مُسْلِمٌ

حَنِيفٌ ولكنْ خيرُ أيَّامِيَ السَّبتُ

حَنِيفٌ ولكنْ خيرُ أيَّامِيَ السَّبتُ

And among the strangest things is that I am a Muslim,

a ḥanīf—yet Saturday is the best of my days.
