ولاand do not تُغفلْنever neglect أمراًa matter وهىhas weakened منهof it جانبa part
ولا تُغفلْن أمراً وهى منه جانب
فيتبعَهthen follows it فيin الوَهْيweakness لاشكwithout doubt سائرُهْthe rest of it
فيتبعَه في الوَهْي لاشك سائرُهْ
And never neglect a matter one part of which has weakened,
Do not neglect a matter, though it be small,
For the rest of it will doubtless follow it in weakness.
For it will grow, undoubtedly, overall.
إذاwhen طَرَفٌan end منof حبلكyour rope انحلّcomes undone عقدُهُits knot
إذا طَرَفٌ من حبلك انحلّ عقدُهُ
تداعتgive way together وشيكاًsoon بانتقاضٍby unraveling مرائرُهْits twisted strands
تداعت وشيكاً بانتقاضٍ مرائرُهْ
When the knot at one end of your rope comes undone,
If but one strand of your rope comes undone,
Its twisted strands will soon give way and unravel.
Soon the whole will unravel, every one.
