وناعورةٍand a waterwheel شبّهتُهاI likened it حينwhen أُلبِستit was clothed
وناعورةٍ شبّهتُها حين أُلبِست
منfrom الشمسthe sun ثوباًa robe فوقover أثوابهاits robes الخضرِgreen
من الشمس ثوباً فوق أثوابها الخضرِ
And I likened a waterwheel, when it was clothed
A fountain I likened, when the sun arrayed
in a robe from the sun over its green robes,
Her in a robe above her verdant gowns,
بطاووسto a peacock بستانٍa garden يدورit turns وينجليand comes into view
بطاووس بستانٍ يدور وينجلي

وينفُض عن أرياشه بللَ القطر
to a garden peacock that turns and comes into view,
To a peacock in a garden as he wheels
and shakes the wetness of rain from its feathers.
And shakes the raindrops from his dripping plumes.
