Ah, O killer of the rooster,

by strangling and pulling it apart,

so that he might slip out at night,

    without the slaves' knowledge,

to the young beauty, having given

    her a few tooth-sticks—

    the tooth-sticks of penniless

    fuckers among men.

Then he came to her, having stirred

    her most mightily;

and the libertine had eyed her

    through the window grilles.

And the debauchee had beguiled her

with ‘I'd ransom you and protect you.’

And he said, ‘Insert this into yourself—

how lovely it is inside you!

    And your oven cannot do

    without some pokers.’

And he bared a cock that reaches

    the throat with rubbing,

    long grown defiant

    like the spears of vagabonds.

So it has no patience for shaving,

nor is it hurt by pricking.

    فلا بأسَ بمُفتيكِ

    And he said, ‘Accept my legal ruling;

there's no harm in your mufti.

So she doubted what he said,

    and he had raised doubts.

And she said, ‘He has long endured—

    our brother—prolonged rubbing.

So if I give him possession of myself,

he is entitled to that possession.’

    And he kept mounting her

    on those thick-piled rugs,

    kneading two breasts,

    supple and rounded,

    and rubbing two labia

    well deserving of rubbing,

    in Turkish finery.

They both mete it out by the qafīz,

    in huge measures, not makkūks.

    And Iblis prays for her

and for the sheikh, invoking blessings.
