سُلالةessence نورٍlight ليسdoes not يُدرِكُهُperceive it اللَمسُtouch
سُلالة نورٍ ليس يُدرِكُهُ اللَمسُ
إذاwhen ماemphatic particle بداhe appears أغضىlower their gaze لهbefore him البدرthe full moon والشمسُand the sun
إذا ما بدا أغضى له البدر والشمسُ
An essence of light that touch cannot grasp.
Shower of light, imperceptible to touch
When he appears, the full moon and the sun lower their gaze before him.
When it appears, the moon and sun grow dim
بهthrough him أمْستbecame الأهواءُpassions يجمعُهاunites them هوىًa love
به أمْست الأهواءُ يجمعُها هوىً
كأنas though نفوسَsouls الناسthe people فيin حُبِّهlove for him نفسُone soul
كأن نفوسَ الناس في حُبِّه نفسُ
Through him, passions have become united by a single love.
By it the passions are brought together through love
As though people's souls, in their love for him, were one soul.
As if the souls of all were breathed into its being
