إذا ما كساك اللَّه سربالَ صحةٍ

إذا ما كساك اللَّه سربالَ صحةٍ

ولم تخلُ من قوتٍ يَحِلُّ ويَعذُبُ

ولم تخلُ من قوتٍ يَحِلُّ ويَعذُبُ

If God clothes you in a garment of health,

If God has clothed you in a robe of health

and you do not lack sustenance that is lawful and pleasant,

And you've not been deprived of sustenance pleasing and pure

فلا تَغْبِطنَّ المترفين فإنهم

فلا تَغْبِطنَّ المترفين فإنهم

على قدْرِ ما يكسوهُمُ الدهرُ يَسْلبُ

على قدْرِ ما يكسوهُمُ الدهرُ يَسْلبُ

then do not envy those living in luxury, for they

Then do not envy the extravagant for they

are stripped by Time in proportion to what it clothes them with.

In proportion to what fortune clothes them, are stripped
