سَقِّني الأسكركعَ الصِّنْ

سَقِّني الأسكركعَ الصِّنْ

بِرَ في جَعْضَلفونِهْ

Give me to drink al-askarkuʿ al-ṣin—

Give me the ice-cold iskarkʿ,

bir, in its jaʿḍalfīn.

واجعل الفَيْجَنَ في الأفْ

واهِ منه بغُصونِهْ

And place rue in its mou—

And cook the gourds and the ḥī—

And cook me milk, curd—

And do cook the curdled milk for me,

led—colored by its labūn (perhaps its “milkiness”).

ومن السِّكباجِ فاطبخْ

لِيَ ثوراً بقرونِه

لِيَ ثوراً بقرونِه

And from the sikbāj, cook

And for the sikbāj stew, cook

for me a bull, horns and all.
