ياO أباAbu (father of) العباسِal-Abbas قرضٌa loan
يا أبا العباسِ قرضٌ
ليَmine مُذْfor حينٍsome time لديْكاwith you
ليَ مُذْ حينٍ لديْكا
O Abu al-Abbas, a loan
O father of Abbas, I have
of mine has been with you for some time.
For some time now a debt with you
وقضاءُand repayment القرْضِthe loan فرضٌa duty
وقضاءُ القرْضِ فرضٌ
ياO أخاbrother of المجدِglory عليكاupon you
يا أخا المجدِ عليكا
And repayment of the loan is a duty
And repaying a debt is a duty
upon you, O brother of glory.
O brother of glory, it is upon you
فاقْضنيso repay me ديْناًa debt حميداًhonorable
فاقْضني ديْناً حميداً
مكَّنَmay strengthen اللَّهُGod يديكاyour two hands
مكَّنَ اللَّهُ يديكا
So repay me this honorable debt;
So repay me a good debt
may God strengthen your hands.
God has empowered your hands
حُقَّis entitled بالإنصافِto fair treatment خصمٌa claimant
حُقَّ بالإنصافِ خصمٌ
رفعَsubmitted العَدْوَىthe complaint إليكاto you
رفعَ العَدْوَى إليكا
A claimant deserves fair treatment—
The opponent deserves justice
one who has brought his complaint before you.
He has raised his grievance to you
