تلقى المحاسنَ إلا في بني مطرٍ

تلقى المحاسنَ إلا في بني مطرٍ

وما محاسنُ شيءٍ كله حسنُ

وما محاسنُ شيءٍ كله حسنُ

You find virtues, except among the sons of Matar;

Beauty is found only among the Bani Matar

And what virtues has a thing that is wholly good?

And the beauty of something is that all of it is beautiful

ترى الخلال التي فيهم محاسنها

ترى الخلال التي فيهم محاسنها

لا بعضُها دون بعضٍ حين تمتحنُ

لا بعضُها دون بعضٍ حين تمتحنُ

You see the traits within them as virtues,

You see the qualities in them, their beauty

Not some to the exclusion of others, when you test them.

Not some of it without the rest when you examine
