The delay has dragged on, and there is no immortality—so let a need
The yearning lengthened, yet immortality is naught,
Be met, or let the coolness of despair quench the thirst.
An ordained need, or the chill of despair seeps through.
واعلمand know بأنيthat I لاnot أسرam gladdened بحاجةٍby a need
واعلم بأني لا أسر بحاجةٍ
إلاunless وفيand in عُمريmy lifetime بهاthrough it مُستمتَعُtime for enjoyment
إلا وفي عُمري بها مُستمتَعُ
And know that a need fulfilled brings me no joy
Know that I divulge no yearning,
Unless I still have time in my life to enjoy it.
Without having reveled in it sometime in my life.
