لوif يدومُlasts الشبابُyouth مدَّةَfor the duration of عمريmy life
لو يدومُ الشبابُ مدَّةَ عمري
لمnot تَدُمْlast ليfor me بشاشةُdelight الأوطارِdesires
لم تَدُمْ لي بشاشةُ الأوطارِ
If youth were to last throughout my life,
If only youth would last for the span of my life
The delight of desires would not last for me.
The joy of eras would not last for me
كلُّevery شيءٍthing لهfor it تَناهٍan end وحدٌّand a limit
كلُّ شيءٍ له تَناهٍ وحدٌّ
كلevery شيءٍthing يجريruns إلىtoward مِقدارِan allotted limit
كل شيءٍ يجري إلى مِقدارِ
Everything has an end and a limit;
Everything has an end and a limit
Everything runs toward its allotted limit.
