للموت ألف فضيلة لا تعرفُ

I said, when they praised life at great length:

When they praised life and spoke of it often,

Death has a thousand virtues that go unrecognized:

I listed a thousand virtues of death they know not.

فيه أمان لقائه بلقائه

فيه أمان لقائه بلقائه

وفراق كل معاشرلا ينصفُ

وفراق كل معاشرلا ينصفُ

In it lies freedom from the fear of meeting it, through meeting it,

In it lies the promise of meeting Him,

And parting from every companion who does not treat one fairly.

And parting from every unjust companion.
