تعالى جَدُّ دينارَي بُنانِ

فحلّا حيث حلَّ الفرقدانِ

فحلّا حيث حلَّ الفرقدانِ

The fortune of Bunān’s two dinars has risen high;

Come, my two dinars are indeed mighty,

and they have settled where the twin Farqad stars dwell.

So off we go where partridges alight.

فلو أنَّ النفوسَ بحيثُ حلّا

فلو أنَّ النفوسَ بحيثُ حلّا

غَدَوْنَ من الحوادثِ في أمان

غَدَوْنَ من الحوادثِ في أمان

And if souls were where those two have settled,

If only souls could settle where they please,

they would be safe from calamities.

They'd rise above misfortunes overnight.
