أَرَابَ الدهرُ حتى ما يُريبُ
وحتىand to the point that لاno عجيبَmarvel لهof its doing عجيبُmarvelous
وحتى لا عجيبَ له عجيبُ
Time has so often stirred misgivings that it stirs them no more,
Time has thrown strange events, as if with nothing more to surprise,
And no marvel of its doing is marvelous anymore.
So there's no strange event that would seem strange or otherwise.

So do not marvel at a noble vinegar-seller:
So do not wonder at a noble youth, however fine,
For more wondrous than he is a child who does not go gray.
For one more wondrous still is a child who does not age.
