أحقُّ برِفْدك من آملي

أحقُّ برِفْدك من آملي

ه من لم يؤمْله في الآملينا

ه من لم يؤمْله في الآملينا

More deserving of your bounty than those who hope for

More deserving of your generosity am I

it is he who did not hope for it among the hopeful,

Than one who did not hope among the hopeful,

ومن كان وُدُّك لا للجَدَا

ومن كان وُدُّك لا للجَدَا

ولكن لنفسك حقاً يقينا

ولكن لنفسك حقاً يقينا

and he whose love for you was not for bounty,

And one whose affection for you was not for merit

but truly and certainly for your own sake.

But sincerely for your own sake,

وإني لَمَنْ أخلصتْ نفسُهُ

وإني لَمَنْ أخلصتْ نفسُهُ

لك الودَّ قِدْماً مَعَ المُخْلِصينا

لك الودَّ قِدْماً مَعَ المُخْلِصينا

And I am indeed one whose soul has sincerely devoted

And I am one whose soul has been sincere to you

its love to you from of old, alongside the sincere.

With affection and sincerity from the first,

ولكنني اضطرني حادثٌ

ولكنني اضطرني حادثٌ

إليك فكن لي عليه معينا

إليك فكن لي عليه معينا

But a misfortune has driven me

But an event has driven me to you

to you; so be my helper against it.

So be my helper against it.
