مدى يومٍ مضى منهُ إليهِ

Whenever time lets pass from its span

When life has passed the extent of its limit,

A day's span, it passes from time back to time.

The extent of a day that has passed away to it,

ويأتي للفتى يومٌ فيومٌ

ويأتي للفتى يومٌ فيومٌ

وما يأتي لهُ يأتي عليه

وما يأتي لهُ يأتي عليه

And to the young man comes day after day,

And there comes to the youth a day after day,

And what comes for him comes against him.

And what comes to him comes upon him.
